On December 27, 1993, at approximately 6:00 p.m., 44-year-old Audie James Lucas was shot during a verbal altercation with unknown suspects in the 6200 block of Annapolis Road, Landover Hills, Maryland. Following the shooting, Lucas was hospitalized and remained in a coma for several years. He succumbed to his injuries on August 11, 2008.
