Did anyone hear the recent story about Ruben Saenz's possible sighting in 1991? It's baffling to think that someone can just vanish like that, yet there's a report of a store owner in Hanalei seeing him two years after he went missing. What are the chances this sighting was actually him? Considering how often tourists pass through, could he have blended in too well, or do you think it's just a case of mistaken identity? I wonder if there are other ways to verify these sightings. It sounds like he had a unique presence, given his lifestyle and beliefs. How often do these kinds of leads end up being legitimate? It must be tough for his family to hold onto these slim threads of hope.
Does anyone else find it odd that Ruben Saenz went missing right in the middle of his journey to "find himself"? I wonder if he came across something unexpected in the Kalalau area. It's such a secluded and spiritual place, known for attracting people wanting to escape modern life. But living totally off the grid is intense, especially in a place as rugged as Kalalau Valley. You'd think there would be more sightings or some trace if he was still around trying to live off the land. Was he prepared for that kind of lifestyle, or did something happen to deter him from his path? The 1991 alleged sighting in Hanalei is so intriguing, but without more evidence, it's hard to know what to think. What do you guys think about the idea of disappearing willingly in today's world?
