Hey everyone, I've been following the case of Roosevelt "Rooster" Netter, and I can't stop thinking about how his church community must be feeling right now. From what I've read, Mount Vernon Baptist Church in Baker really came together to remember him. It must've been so hard for them to have their space touched by such sadness. Churches usually feel like places of safety and refuge, and to have that shaken is truly tough. It's clear that Rooster made quite an impact on the people around him, and having a community to lean on during times like this is invaluable. I hope they find some comfort in coming together to honor his memory. Thoughts and prayers go out to his loved ones. If anyone has more info on how folks are coping or any community initiatives that might have sprung up in his memory, please share. Stay safe, y'all.

I've been following Rooster Netter’s case, and it's just so devastating to see how violence continues to touch lives in Baton Rouge. It's clear he was cherished by so many, and I can only imagine how hard it must be for his family right now. The service at Mount Vernon Baptist Church must have been incredibly moving, filled with people who loved him dearly. I've been trying to piece together how the community can better address this surge in violence. Do any locals have thoughts on whether increased community programs or outreach might help prevent tragedies like this in the future? It pains me to think of another family going through such a terrible loss. Sending all my strength and wishes to Rooster's loved ones as they navigate this profoundly difficult time.
