Has anyone looked into the possibility that Carpenter might have interacted with locals or business owners in Conway before he disappeared? Given that he had such a large sum of cash on him, it's possible he was trying to make connections or get advice. Maybe someone he talked to had ulterior motives? It's so strange there haven't been any solid leads all these years. Also, did law enforcement ever track his movements in the days leading up to him going missing, especially around the motel or nearby areas? Would love to hear thoughts and any info folks might have stumbled upon regarding local happenings around that time.
Anyone else find it odd that Andy checked into a motel in Conway, rather than staying in Myrtle Beach where he was planning to buy the hotel? I’ve been thinking about this detail. The fact that he went to a different town could suggest he was trying to be cautious or maybe even feeling threatened. If he had a large sum of cash on him, maybe he didn't want to draw attention to himself? Or perhaps he was there meeting someone? It's curious he went off the beaten path, so to speak. I wonder if the police looked into why exactly he was in Conway and if anyone from the motel remembered seeing him with someone. Thoughts?
