Has anyone else been thinking about the impact of this case on public safety in Metro areas? I've been taking the Wheaton Metro on my commute for years, and the idea that something so violent could happen in a parking garage I use regularly is unsettling. I know they've made a lot of efforts since Eric Alexander Melgar's death to improve security, but I still find myself looking over my shoulder more often. The tragedy of Eric losing his life in such a senseless way makes me wonder about what more can be done to prevent such incidents. I genuinely hope his family finds some peace knowing that measures are being taken to protect others in his memory. Though the outcome for Chase might bring some justice, it never really feels like enough when a young life is lost. Anyway, I just wanted to see if anyone else who uses the Metro regularly feels the same anxiety, or if you've noticed any significant changes in security since this happened. Thoughts?
