Has anyone else been following the Melvin Ford case? I've been thinking a lot about the decision he made to decline witness protection. It just breaks my heart that he found himself in such a terrifying position, yet still chose to stand up and do what he felt was right by agreeing to testify. It's a testament to his bravery, but also highlights the tough choices witnesses face when dealing with the reality of constant threats. I genuinely hope that this tragic event prompts serious reform in the way witness protection is offered and accepted. It should never have come down to this. My thoughts are with his family and friends.
