It's been over 20 years, and I still wonder what might have happened to James Washington Jr. after the boating accident. I grew up hearing stories about the incident, and it's always struck me as strange that neither James nor Wilburn Thompson were ever found. I've read that the waters around Suisun Bay can be quite tricky with currents and visibility. Does anyone know if there were thorough underwater searches conducted back then? I imagine the technology at the time wasn't as advanced, but it's curious if they ever re-examined those areas with newer tech. Maybe there's someone here who's more familiar with search and rescue operations in such conditions? Any insight would be appreciated.

I’ve been following the case of James Washington Jr. and can't help but wonder about the currents in Suisun Bay at the time of the accident. Having grown up near the area, I know how tricky those waters can be, especially with the tides and winds that change rapidly. Did anyone ever mention what the weather was like that day in March 2000? It might have played a significant role in why James and Wilburn Thompson weren't found. Also, is there any information on whether the Coast Guard or local search teams used sonar technology during their search efforts back then? I’d love to hear if any experts or locals have insights on this.

Has anyone here ever gone through the archives or checked news reports from the time around James Washington's disappearance, especially focusing on statements or interviews from the Coast Guard? I know sometimes initial reports can have little details or inconsistencies that get overlooked in the rush of everything. With James and Wilburn Thompson still missing, I'm really curious if there was anything mentioned in those early days that might shed more light on what could have happened out there. All these years later, the families must be desperate for any piece of information, no matter how small. If anyone's done a deep dive on that or has access to newspaper clippings, it might be worth taking another look. Thoughts?
