When I heard about Franklin Ausby, I was struck by how deeply ingrained the issues of crime are in neighborhoods like his. It's shocking how frequently young lives are cut short due to senseless violence. Franklin was only 22, had so much life ahead of him, and now his family's world has been turned upside down. I keep thinking about the toll this takes on the community. Families live in fear, and there's a pervasive sense of anxiety and loss. We can't just sit by while more and more families are devastated like this. It's crucial for community members to foster a sense of trust so they can work with law enforcement and not feel threatened when coming forward with information. My heart goes out to Franklin’s family. This cannot become the norm, and it starts with all of us working together to bring about change.
