It's stories like hers that remind us that each statistic in crime reports was a real person, like Ala'junaye, with dreams and a personality that was beloved by those around her. Her colorful clothing and vibrant spirit evidently brought joy to her friends and family, making this tragedy even more profound. My heart goes out to her family, especially her mother, Brandi, who is not only fighting to find justice for her daughter but trying to bring attention to a broader problem affecting their community. It takes immense courage to channel such grief into advocacy. I truly hope someone with information comes forward soon so that Ala'junaye’s family can find some semblance of peace and that their call for change in Baltimore is heard loud and clear.
