On the evening of Saturday, May 30th, Davis and her friends had made a trip to a local gas station. As they were heading back, an acquaintance offered them a ride. While they were in the car on the 2100 block of Wilkens Avenue, a gunman opened fire on the vehicle.
Both Alajunaye and the driver of the car were struck by the gunfire.
In a desperate attempt to save her, the wounded driver rushed her to a nearby hospital. Despite their efforts, the injuries Alajunaye sustained were too severe, and she was pronounced dead at the hospital.
