I’ve been reading and thinking a lot about the different factors that could have contributed to such a tragedy as Tywon Rounds’ death. One thing that's been on my mind is the role that lack of community trust with law enforcement might play. So many times, it feels like people are hesitant to come forward with information, maybe out of fear of retaliation or a deep-seated distrust. But without cooperation, how do we break this cycle and bring justice to families like Tywon’s? I keep hoping that there might be ways to rebuild that trust and find avenues for residents to safely share what they know. It’s frustrating that Tywon and others like him aren’t getting the closure they and their families deserve. It makes me wonder what positive steps both the community and law enforcement could take together to change this narrative.
