I've been following Richard Drouin Jr.'s case for a while, and something that's always intrigued me is how quickly the currents in the Kennebec River can change. Does anyone know if they ever considered whether some underwater debris or something could have trapped him? I feel like it's odd that his body was never found, especially with all the search efforts. I wonder if the conditions of the water that day were more dangerous than initially reported. Has anyone local to the area noticed any changes to the river over the years that might give more insight into possibilities for what could have happened?

Hey everyone, I've been following Richard Drouin Jr.'s case for a while and I've seen a lot of discussions about the accident itself, but I was wondering if anyone else has looked into the history of the Carlton Bridge where the accident occurred? Did some digging and found out that bridge has some old infrastructure, with submerged cables that were known hazards. Kind of makes you wonder if there were any warnings or signage that should've been there to prevent such accidents. Has there been any talk about safety upgrades to prevent future incidents like this one? Would love to hear if anyone else found similar things or has more info on bridge conditions around that time.

Has anyone done any deep dives (pun intended) into the rescue efforts that happened on the day Richard Drouin Jr. disappeared? I know the workers from Bath Iron Works were quick to help, but I’m curious about the official response and any potential missteps. It seems odd that onlookers could save two people yet there’s no trace of Richard. Could the position of the cables or the boat's angle have impacted how and where he ended up in the water? The Kennebec River currents are notoriously strong, but something about this feels like a piece is missing. Anyone familiar with local SAR operations back in '06? I'd appreciate any insight or resources to dig deeper into this angle.
