Hey everyone, I was just thinking about how frustrating it must be for the community around South Smallwood Street with these surveillance cameras not working. It’s personally upsetting that in Charles "Reds" Rheubottom’s case, a crucial piece of equipment was down when it could have provided critical evidence. It makes you wonder how many other incidents might go unresolved due to such failures.
As someone who walks around Baltimore regularly, it’s so unsettling to think that these cameras aren’t reliable. It feels like an important part of public safety is being neglected. I can’t imagine the added anguish this brings to Charles's family, not having that crucial footage to help find justice for him. I hope this sparks some action from local authorities to make sure other families and communities don’t have to deal with this same frustration.
Has anyone heard if there have been any improvements or discussions about fixing these cameras since his tragic death? It seems like it should be a top priority given how much it impacts potential cases. Sending love to Charles’s family and hope they find peace someday. ?
Hey everyone,
I wanted to share something that really stood out to me about Charles Rheubottom's tragic case. It’s deeply upsetting to think about how critical evidence was possibly lost due to that non-functional police camera. It makes me wonder how different things might be if it had been working. I can't even begin to imagine the frustration and helplessness his family, especially his mom, Darlene, must feel knowing that the malfunction might have been a huge missed opportunity in capturing what happened.
This isn’t just about Charles's case but the broader issues around public safety infrastructure failing when it’s needed the most. It's unfortunate that a tool meant to keep communities safer ended up being unreliable. The idea of potentially having some footage could have been a crucial breakthrough. Has there been any movement or responsiveness from the city about fixing these cameras or making sure it doesn’t happen again? It's concerning to think this could affect other cases too.
If anyone's heard any updates or actions being taken, I'd love to know. The community deserves better, and most importantly, Charles's family deserves justice.
Sending love to all of you here today.
I was thinking about how infuriating and tragic it is that the camera near Charles’s murder site wasn’t working. It’s so hard to imagine how a piece of equipment meant to keep us safe can fail at such a crucial moment. I can only sympathize with the immense frustration his family must feel, especially knowing this was something that could have potentially aided in solving the case. It’s like a crucial piece of the puzzle is just missing.
I really hope that situations like this one can bring about change in ensuring that public safety tools are always operational. Maybe some good can come from shining a light on these issues, but that doesn’t change the fact that the family needs more support and answers. It's so important for us as a community to strengthen our advocacy for street safety and functional monitoring to prevent future tragedies. Charles, and others like him, deserve nothing less. Sending strength and hope to Darlene and her family.
