I can’t stop thinking about the location where Jacob Rice was found, 225 N. 39th Street. It’s haunting to know that such a tragic event happened in what many of us consider our safe spaces—our neighborhoods. I’ve been trying to understand if this was a targeted attack or if something about that particular spot made it vulnerable to violence. Was there a history of crime in that area before Jacob’s murder? And if so, what has been done since then to improve safety? The impact of this senseless act on Jacob’s family and friends must be immeasurable. I truly hope that someone with the right information finds the courage to come forward. Solving cases like Jacob’s is crucial, not only for his family but also for the well-being of the entire Louisville community. It’s unbearable to think that someone with answers might still be out there, holding the key to justice. If anyone has any insights or memories about that night, please share them.
