Hey everyone,
I've been thinking a lot about the chilling timeline surrounding Samir's case, especially how Damien's actions seemed so premeditated. It’s really unsettling to consider. The fact that security footage caught him leaving his home in Estill and he had to travel all the way to West Columbia indicates this wasn't a spur-of-the-moment thing. He obviously planned to confront Samir. What compels someone to drive such a distance with the intent to harm a family member?
It breaks my heart just thinking about how Samir might have felt seeing his cousin show up like that. Did he ever imagine the day would take such a dark turn? And then involving other people and injuring them just adds to the senselessness of it all. I can't imagine the fear and betrayal in that kitchen that day. Sending my thoughts to Samir's family and friends as they navigate this enormous loss.
What do you all think? Do these premeditated aspects make it even more egregious, or does it make no difference in terms of the atrocity of the act?
