I just came across this tragic case of Ashley Blackman, and I'm really struck by the senseless loss of such a young life. One thing I can't stop thinking about is the role of domestic violence in this case. How many times do we hear about relationships where red flags go unnoticed or are outright ignored until it's too late? Ashley’s story is a chilling reminder that we must take threats and abusive behaviors seriously, and society needs to do better in providing support to those in dangerous situations. We have to nurture environments where victims feel safe to reach out for help without fear of stigma or reprisal. My heart truly goes out to her family and friends who are left to process this unimaginable loss, and I hope this tragic event serves as a catalyst for change. Can we, as a community, find ways to support local shelters or awareness programs to prevent another life from being senselessly taken?
