What stands out most in this case is the terrifying reality of domestic violence. David's death underscores the urgent need for systems that can effectively protect those threatened by violence and intimidation before tragedies like this occur. My heart goes out to David’s family and friends, who have lost someone cherished, and to Young’s ex-wife, who must be experiencing unimaginable guilt and fear. We need more conversations about how communities and authorities can better support individuals living under these threats to prevent more devastating outcomes.
