I really can't get over how senseless this whole situation is. Barry was just trying to live his life, fix up bikes, and be a good neighbor. It's heartbreaking to think that a disagreement over something as minor as a bit of money could escalate to such violence. When I think about the fact that his family has to go on without him, it truly hits home. I'm relieved to see that justice is being served in Barry's name, but it won't replace the loss his family feels. Shumpert getting 40 years feels like a step towards closure, but the pain of Barry's absence lingers. I can only imagine the frustration of still waiting for the codefendant's trial to conclude. Also, does anyone know how the other victim involved is doing? They must be going through a tough time too, physically and emotionally. My thoughts are with them and Barry's loved ones during these difficult times.
