Has anyone else been following the case of Ngaio Kasai Smith from Belton? It's been on my mind a lot these past few weeks. What's standing out to me is how quiet everything went after the initial investigation. It's hard to believe in a small town like Belton that someone wouldn't know something or have heard something about what happened that night. I really feel for Ngaio's family; it must be incredibly hard not having answers. I noticed that Chief Young mentioned it being the first homicide under his leadership, so I imagine this must weigh heavily on him too. Does anyone else have thoughts on why there haven't been more updates? Maybe the community could rally to bring the attention back to this case and support those affected by it.
