I've been following the Breese case for a while now, and it's truly distressing to think about the impact this loss has had on his family. I've read some discussions about the confrontation that led up to the shooting, but what really puzzles me is the role of mental health in all this. From what I understand, Darren Grissom had a history of issues and is required to undergo counseling as part of his sentence. It's important to wonder whether things might have unfolded differently if mental health support had been more accessible to him beforehand. It’s no excuse, of course, but I imagine it’s a small part of a much larger picture. My heart really goes out to Joseph’s children and grandchildren. They must be dealing with so much pain. It’s hard enough to process a loss like this, let alone when it's caused by a family member. Does anyone have any insights into how mental health evaluations are used in cases like this? It might be crucial for preventing future tragedies.
