I’ve been thinking a lot about Kajieme Powell's case, especially how it all came down to those 23 seconds when the officers arrived on the scene. That’s such a short span of time to make life-altering decisions. I've read through the investigative reports and watched the video, which is hard to get out of my head. It really makes me wonder if there could have been a different approach, given how quickly everything unfolded.
I can’t even begin to imagine what it’s like for his family, having to process everything from the footage and reports. It must be incredibly difficult to find any sense of closure with so many unresolved questions still lingering. The use of force debates following this tragic event have definitely left a mark on public opinion regarding police protocols. The whole situation is such an immense tragedy, and I hope it leads to meaningful discussions about how similar incidents are handled in the future. Sending thoughts to everyone impacted by this.
