Hey everyone,
I've been thinking a lot about Keyla Weddel's case lately, especially how unsettling it must have been for her poor kids to hear their mom scream that night. Imagine being just six years old and waking up to something like that. It’s truly unimaginable and so deeply upsetting that their lives were thrown into chaos at such a young age.
I wanted to ask if anyone knows about the psychological support Keyla’s kids might have received back then. Considering they had to continue with life without their mom and the constant weight of an unsolved mystery hanging over their family, I hope there was some counseling offered. It just feels so crucial that they were given a chance to process such an awful experience in a healthy way.
Does anyone have any insight into what resources might have been available in a small town like Medora in the late '80s? And maybe how the community pitched in to help the family? I can't stop thinking about how they—especially the twins—grew up with this unresolved tragedy. It’s really important to keep these kids (now adults, of course) in mind when we discuss the case.
Sending thoughts and support to Keyla’s family and those who knew and loved her.
Take care,
