I’ve been reading about Travell Leflore’s murder, and I can't stop thinking about the community aspect here. It’s so difficult to process how areas like the Spanish Lake neighborhood, which should be places of safety and community, have these undercurrents of violence. Travell was just 18, and to think he lost his life in a neighborhood so familiar to him makes this even more tragic. I’ve seen online groups and local community efforts pulling together to seek justice not just for Travell but other victims of violence as well. It's heartwarming to see people coming together to support his family and keep the discussion alive, but it’s also a stark reminder of how much work there is to do in preventing such tragedies. If anyone here has been involved in community efforts in St. Louis or can share what’s been effective in other areas, I’d love to hear about it. Let's not let Travell's name be forgotten and continue to push for change and justice. Thoughts are with his family and friends during this incredibly challenging time.
