I was reading through some of the discussions about the tragic murder of Leighlan Fleming and couldn't help but think about how these incidents affect the community's sense of safety, especially for young people. It's terrifying to imagine what it must be like for teenagers growing up in an environment where gun violence feels like a constant threat. Kids should be worried about getting their driver's licenses or applying to college, not worrying if they're safe to walk down the street.
I also find it really troubling that no arrests have been made yet. It's almost four years later, and Leighlan's family still doesn't have answers. I can't imagine the pain of losing someone so young and not having closure. We really need more voices speaking up and insisting on change in how these cases are handled. Everyone deserves to feel safe in their hometown, and families like Leighlan's deserve justice and peace.
Hoping someone with information finds the courage to come forward soon. It could make all the difference.
I’ve been following Leighlan Fleming's case since it happened, and it's gut-wrenching how these communities are being torn apart by gun violence. I feel for his family having to endure this trauma all while grappling with the fact that there's been no real justice. One thing that's been on my mind is how such a chaotic scene unfolded in broad daylight with that rolling gun battle. It makes me wonder if more people might have seen something critical that could aid in the investigation.
Given the number of shell casings found, it’s clear this incident would have been extremely loud and frightening. There could be witnesses who might not have realized the importance of what they saw or heard that day. Plus, in a neighborhood setting where most people know each other at least in passing, someone might just recognize something about the vehicles or have seen people acting suspiciously before or after the shooting.
I urge anyone from the area who might recall even the tiniest detail, like unfamiliar cars or people hanging around, to share it anonymously if need be. Every little bit could help bring solace and answers to his family and hopefully make the community a bit safer. It's devastating thinking of what Leighlan's family is going through, and I can only hope they find the peace and justice they dearly deserve.
