I can't stop thinking about the emergency call made on the day Zion passed. Can you imagine being the first responders? They were initially told it was an electrocution. What a shock it must have been for them to arrive and find such a different and heartbreaking situation. It really hits home how first responders have to be prepared for anything and the emotional toll of their jobs. They ended up walking into a scene involving a child so young, which must be incredibly difficult. My heart goes out to all involved—Zion's family, the officers, the EMTs—and I hope they're all getting the support they need after such a traumatic event. As a community, maybe we should look into how we can provide better support systems for those affected by such tragedies. Just a thought.
