Did anyone else see the vigil for Elijah McKinney last night? It was incredibly moving to see so many community members come together to honor his memory. It's clear that Elijah was very loved, and he touched a lot of lives. It’s hard to believe how quickly something so senseless can take away such a young life full of potential. I didn't know Elijah personally, but seeing everyone come together like that really emphasized what a loss this is for our community. It also makes me think about the pain his family and close friends are enduring. My thoughts are with them. The turnout shows how much this incident has affected all of us in St. Louis and why it's vital we continue to push for change in our neighborhood. Please, if anyone has information, step forward. Let’s work to prevent another tragedy like this.

I've been following the tragic case of Elijah McKinney and the others caught in the Walnut Park West shooting. It’s truly devastating to see young lives ended in such senseless violence. I can't stop thinking about the surviving victims, especially the 17-year-old boy who was injured. What kind of support system does he have now? Traumatic events like this can leave lasting scars, both physically and emotionally. I hope he has access to counseling and community resources to help him through this incredibly tough time.
Also, the quick arrest of Joshua Amerson raises questions about how tightly-knit these groups involved must be, and how the police were able to trace back to him so swiftly. Does anyone know if local organizations are stepping up to provide mediation or conflict resolution to prevent future tragedies like this? It seems like more work needs to be done to foster peace and understanding before another altercation escalates into violence. My heart goes out to all the families impacted by this heartbreaking incident.
