Esmeralda Monique Leyva, a 15-year-old girl, was last seen on May 22, 2019, in Los Angeles, California. On the day of her disappearance, she left for school but never returned home. Prior to this incident, she had run away once before while living in Las Vegas, Nevada, although her parents expressed that they had a good relationship with her and were unsure why she would run away again.
