Doloris May Siddall, a 29-year-old woman, went missing from Long Beach, California, on August 23, 1961. At the time, Doloris was pregnant and had three young children, whom she left in the care of a babysitter before disappearing. She lived in the 700 block of Redondo Avenue and worked as a barmaid. Leading up to her disappearance, Doloris had confided to friends that she was "in trouble" and planned to meet with Hugh MacLeod Pheaster, a man known for performing illegal abortions.
