On September 2, 1985, 31-year-old Arthur Floyd Ambrose was last seen in Galena, a city in the Yukon-Koyukuk Census Area of Alaska. He was an American Indian / Alaska Native male with black hair and brown eyes. On that day, he was involved in a tragic boating accident on the Koyukuk River. The incident occurred when the 24-foot flat-bottomed riverboat he was in collided with a bull moose. The collision on the Koyukuk River, between the locations of Hughes and Allakaket, resulted in the boat capsizing. Tragically, Arthur Ambrose and five other individuals were thrown into the water and are presumed to have drowned. The other victims of this devastating accident were identified as Carol Ann Ambrose, who was 24, Ruth H. Beatus, 27, Henry Beatus Jr., 26, Raymond Beatus, 24, and Robert W. Nictune, who was 22 years old. Despite any search and rescue efforts that may have been conducted at the time, none of the six individuals were ever found.
