On September 2, 1985, 31-year-old Arthur Floyd Ambrose was one of six individuals who tragically lost their lives in a boating accident on the Koyukuk River. The group was traveling in a 24-foot flat-bottomed riverboat between the Alaskan villages of Hughes and Allakaket when they collided with a bull moose. The impact of the collision caused the boat to capsize, and all six occupants are presumed to have drowned.
