On January 12, 1988, 34-year-old Eugene Smith Naumoff of Old Harbor, Alaska, was reported missing following a boating accident near Geese Island in the Kodiak Archipelago. Naumoff, an American Indian/Alaska Native male with black hair and brown eyes, was a crew member on the 32-foot fishing vessel, the Cape Karluk. The vessel was caught in a severe storm with winds ranging from 40 to 60 miles per hour and was lost while attempting to find shelter in Russian Harbor near the Geese Island Channel. ...
