On March 3, 1989, 26-year-old Dennis Keith Frye of Kodiak, Alaska, was reported missing after the fishing vessel he was on, the Ocean Hope II, is believed to have sunk in the Shelikof Strait. Frye, an American Indian/Alaska Native with brown hair and hazel eyes, was one of four crew members aboard the 108-foot steel longline halibut fishing vessel. He was approximately 5'9" tall and weighed 160 pounds, and had a distinctive scar on his right hand.
