Russell Yoshida, a 53-year-old resident of Waialua, Hawaii, was last seen on November 23, 2009, after embarking on a solo kayak fishing trip from Puuiki Beach on Oahu’s North Shore. When Yoshida failed to return, a large-scale search was launched, involving the U.S. Coast Guard and the Honolulu Fire Department.
