A Soldotna resident is dead and three other people are missing after a 22-foot-long boat capsized in Aialik Bay, which is near Seward and adjacent to Resurrection Bay.
According to a dispatch from Alaska State Troopers, they were notified by the U.S. Coast Guard of an overturned vessel around 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 22. The craft, they say, had left Seward on Tuesday but then was unable to return “due to poor sea conditions and weather.”
