She packed a small bag and set off on foot, intending to walk to a creek about three miles away. Tragically, she left without her cell phone and was never heard from again. At the time of her disappearance, Katie was described as a 20-year-old white female with brown hair and brown eyes. She had a scar between her eyebrows and pierced ears.
For years, Katie's case remained a painful mystery for her family and community. Her father, Darrell Cawthorn, relentlessly searched for answers, never giving up hope of finding his daughter.
