On what should have been a joyous Christmas Day in 2019, Parris Lechelle Hopson, a 26-year-old woman, vanished from Massillon, Ohio, leaving her family heartbroken and searching for answers. Parris, who resided in Columbus, Ohio with her mother, was visiting her grandparents in her hometown of Massillon for the holiday. During the family gathering, those close to her noticed a change in her demeanor; she seemed anxious and was observed pacing back and forth. At approximately 2:30 in the afternoon, Parris informed her family that she was going for a walk to a nearby park, Shriver Park, to clear her head. She left without her personal belongings, including her cell phone, which was left charging in her car, along with her bank cards and identification. This was the last time her family saw her. Parris was a graduate of Washington High School and Cleveland State University and was described as an intelligent and talented writer with a promising future. She was employed in an administrative role at Nationwide insurance company at the time of her disappearance and had previous experience as an event planner. Her family strongly believes that she would not have voluntarily disappeared, especially considering her dedication to her family. A significant event that deeply affected Parris was the tragic death of her younger brother, Perry, in April 2018. He had been the victim of a hit-and-run car crash in 2017 and had been on life support before his passing. Parris was reportedly committed to finding the person responsible for her brother's death. Her mother, Rochelle Arnold-Hopson, has stated that her daughter was not involved with drugs and did not have any known mental health issues. The investigation into Parris's disappearance has been met with few leads. On the day she went missing, she was wearing a burgundy shirt, blue jeans, and black boots, and was carrying a black purse. She has several distinct tattoos, including her name and a pair of lips on her chest, a rose on her foot and ankle, and another tattoo on her upper back near her neck. A neighbor reported seeing Parris on the day she disappeared, stating that she stopped to wish him a merry Christmas and gave him a hug before continuing her walk towards the park. Her last known communication was a text message to a local pastor inquiring about Christmas church services. Since her disappearance, there has been no activity on her phone records, bank accounts, or social media profiles. Despite the efforts of law enforcement, including searches of wooded areas with K9 units, no evidence of foul play has been found, and the circumstances surrounding her case remain a mystery. The case of Parris Hopson remains an active missing person investigation, a painful and unresolved chapter for her loved ones who continue to hope for her return.
