James Z. Kravets, a 53-year-old man from Fairfax, California, went missing on August 18, 2020. Kravets, an avid hiker familiar with the Lagunitas area, was last seen in Fairfax. Following his disappearance, his silver 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe was found abandoned on West Cintura Avenue in Lagunitas. Despite extensive search efforts, no trace of Kravets has been found since then.
Kravets, who had a background in local journalism, was well known in the West Marin area.
His disappearance has left many puzzled, particularly given his frequent hiking in the region. Authorities have classified his case as "endangered missing" and consider him to be at risk. There is still no conclusive evidence as to what happened to Kravets, and his case remains unsolved.
