Jamal Essayah, a 23-year-old from Fairfax, California, was last seen on July 22, 2012. On that day, he sent a text to a friend indicating that he was at the Golden Gate Bridge. This was the last communication anyone received from him. Witnesses later reported seeing someone matching his description jump from the bridge. Essayah had a history of suicide attempts, including an earlier incident in which he survived after jumping in front of a vehicle.
