Ian McKnight, a 29-year-old sailor, went missing on September 6, 2020, while serving aboard the USS *Nimitz*. Ian, who held the rank of Information Systems Technician 2nd Class, was believed to have gone overboard in the North Arabian Sea. The crew of the *Nimitz* first reported him missing at around 6:47 p.m. local time after a ship-wide search was conducted.
