Aaron Scott Johnson, 34, was last seen in Birchwood, Wisconsin, on October 12, 2020. He was dropped off the previous evening at a location known as "Six Mile Corner" on the Lac Courte Oreilles Reservation by friends after having an argument with his wife. His vehicle, a maroon Dodge Dakota, was left parked on the roadside due to brake issues. The next day, a witness reported seeing a man matching Aaron’s description walking along a remote road in socks, boxer shorts, and a tank top.
Despite being asked if he needed help, the man declined and continued walking. A photograph of this encounter, later confirmed by family as Aaron, was not reported until two months later.
After his disappearance, his truck was located in December 2020, along with several of his personal belongings, including clothing, his boots, and identification, scattered across a wide area. These findings, combined with his state of undress, led to concerns that he may have been experiencing hypothermia-induced disorientation, a phenomenon known as "paradoxical undressing." Aaron was also struggling with methamphetamine addiction at the time, which might have played a role in his erratic behavior.
