In the autumn of 2020, the life of 23-year-old Ieshia Nicole Jackson took a troubling turn, culminating in her mysterious disappearance from El Dorado, Arkansas. The exact date of her last confirmed sighting is somewhat vague, with reports varying between October 31 and November 4. Some accounts state she was last seen on November 4, 2020, around 9:00 p.m. after a relative dropped her off at her apartment on South Roselawn.
This was after a trip she had taken to Houston, Texas, with a family member. Other reports indicate she was last seen in the late hours of October 31, 2020, or early morning November 1, after attending a Halloween party in Camden, Arkansas. Her mother, growing concerned after being unable to reach her, went to her daughter's home and discovered a disturbing scene: the front door was ajar, and inside were Ieshia's wallet, cell phone, and a duffle bag. Ieshia, who did not have a driver's license or a vehicle, was gone.
The investigation into Ieshia's disappearance soon pointed toward the possibility of foul play. In the days leading up to her vanishing, Ieshia had reported to police that her home had been broken into twice in the same week, identifying a man named Semajee Dismuke as one of the intruders. Dismuke and Ieshia had previously been in a relationship that had recently ended. In December 2020, Dismuke was arrested and charged with capital murder, kidnapping, and engaging in criminal group activity in connection with her case. Another man, Kenneth Earl Lee, was also arrested for allegedly attempting to extort $8,000 from Ieshia's family for information about her whereabouts, though authorities do not believe he was directly involved in her disappearance. The case took another turn in February 2021 when Dismuke was released from jail because the prosecution had not filed formal charges within the legally required 60-day period. He was later incarcerated for an unrelated crime, and it remains unclear if he is still considered a suspect in Ieshia's case.
Ieshia's family and community continue to hold out hope for answers. She is described as a Black female with black hair, brown eyes, and several distinctive physical features, including vitiligo on her face and body, multiple ear and nose piercings, and various tattoos. These tattoos include a heart with a dove on her left chest, floral vines on her torso and hip area, and another tattoo behind her left ear. Ieshia also has sickle cell anemia, a medical condition that required several hospitalizations before she went missing and for which she would likely need medical attention. The El Dorado Police Department, along with the Union County Sheriff's Office, are the investigating agencies. The case has generated numerous search warrants and involved state and federal agencies.
