On a winter's night in Bellingham, Washington, 22-year-old Timothy Braddy, along with his brother Frankie Braddy, and their roommates Korina Rodriguez and Samantha Ham, vanished without a trace. The group was last seen at a party on Friday, January 21, 1994. Accounts from that evening suggest they mentioned an intention to go rock climbing. However, the prevailing belief among investigators is that their plans took a different, more perilous turn. It is thought that the four left the party and made their way to Chuckanut Bay, where they are believed to have taken two 12-foot skiffs for a joyride on the water. The days following their last sighting were filled with growing concern and a distinct lack of communication from any of the four individuals. The first significant clue in their disappearance surfaced when a car, which had been loaned to the Braddy brothers by their sister, was discovered abandoned on Chuckanut Shore Road. This location was alarmingly close to a residence from which two skiffs had been reported stolen. A few days later, one of the missing skiffs was found washed ashore in Teddy Bear Cove, at the northern end of Chuckanut Bay. Adding to the grim discovery, a jacket believed to belong to one of the women was found submerged in the water nearby, intensifying fears that the group had met with a tragic accident in the bay. Despite the recovery of the skiff and the jacket, extensive searches of the area yielded no further signs of Timothy Braddy or his companions. The waters of Chuckanut Bay, known for being choppy, are thought to have been rough on the night they disappeared. The official search, involving the Coast Guard and local authorities, was eventually scaled back, leaving the families with unanswered questions and a profound sense of loss. The case of the missing four has grown cold over the decades, a haunting local mystery of what happened to two brothers and their roommates on that January night. The prevailing theory remains that they encountered trouble on the water, a joyride that ended in tragedy, though without further evidence, their exact fate remains unknown. The Bellingham Police Department handled the initial investigation.
