Rodolfo “Rudy” Ramirez, a 74-year-old man with dementia, went missing on July 6, 2019, while camping with his wife at Crow Creek on the Wind River Indian Reservation in Wyoming. Rudy was last seen wearing a blue and gray Columbia jacket, a white dress shirt, black jeans, and black dress shoes. He had wandered away from the campsite and never returned.
Despite extensive search efforts, including teams using helicopters, drones, cadaver dogs, and volunteers scouring the rough terrain around Black Mountain and the Absaroka Range, no trace of him has been found.
Rudy’s family, including his daughter Patricia, continued searching for him for months after the official efforts were called off. The rugged wilderness and cold temperatures during the nights of his disappearance made the situation particularly dire. His condition, combined with the challenging terrain, has led to speculation that he may have suffered an accident or become disoriented, possibly succumbing to the elements or wildlife. Despite the long search, his family holds onto memories of his kindness and remains hopeful for closure.
