In the small community of Peridot, Arizona, on the San Carlos Apache Reservation, Joseph Samuel Bullis, a 37-year-old man, was going about his day on June 10, 2021. He was last seen in the parking lot of the local Bashas' Supermarket, a familiar place for residents. Joseph, a member of the San Carlos Apache Tribe, has not been seen or heard from since that day. His disappearance has left his family and community with unanswered questions and a lingering sense of concern for his well-being. At the time he went missing, he was described as being 5'9' tall and weighing 175 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
Joseph has several distinct tattoos that his family hoped would help in identifying him. These include a tattoo of a triangle below both of his eyes, the name 'Lahoma' tattooed on the left side of his neck, and the nickname 'Belk' tattooed on his right forearm. These permanent marks are a poignant reminder of the person who vanished without a trace, leaving a void in the lives of those who know him. The circumstances surrounding his disappearance remain unclear, with very few details available to the public or to the investigators working on his case. This lack of information has made the search for answers even more challenging for both law enforcement and his loved ones.
The San Carlos Tribal Police Department, along with the Bureau of Indian Affairs Missing and Murdered Unit, is actively seeking any information that could lead to locating Joseph. His case is a somber reminder of the ongoing crisis of missing and murdered Indigenous people across the country. The investigation into what happened to Joseph Bullis continues, as his family and community hold onto hope for his safe return. The case remains open, a painful and unresolved chapter for all who are affected by his absence. The lack of significant leads has created a difficult and frustrating situation, leaving many to wonder about the events that transpired on the day he was last seen.
