Richard Hambrick, age 47, was last seen on August 27, 2017, when he and his friend, Steve Chaney, left from the South Harbor Boat Ramp in Oak Island, North Carolina, aboard a 22-foot fishing boat. The pair intended to fish along the coast but failed to return. A massive search effort was launched, involving the U.S. Coast Guard and other agencies.
