Months later, on November 14, 2021, human skeletal remains were discovered in a wooded area near Woodruff Farm Road, in proximity to the Norfolk Southern railway line. The remains were sent to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation's crime lab for initial examination, and a sample was also forwarded to a private forensic laboratory for more specialized DNA analysis and comparison.
