On a fall afternoon, a recreational outing on the Delaware River turned into a tragedy that resulted in the disappearance of Joseph P. McLaughlin. On November 13, 2021, the 24-year-old from Deptford, New Jersey, was on a 19-foot boat with two friends near West Deptford in Gloucester County.
