In the winter of 2022, the life of 32-year-old Beverly Jackee Logan, a mother of two, took a distressing and mysterious turn. She was last seen on January 27, 2022, at a trailer on Ross Lane in an area just outside of Belleville, Illinois, where she resided with a male acquaintance. Known to her family as a good-hearted and adventurous person, it was highly uncharacteristic for her to fall out of contact, especially with her children and her mother, with whom she last exchanged text messages on
January 26, 2022. Concern grew into alarm as days turned into weeks with no word. Her family, knowing this was completely out of character, officially filed a missing person report with the St. Clair County Sheriff's Department on February 13, 2022, setting in motion an investigation that would cross state lines and leave her loved ones in an agonizing state of uncertainty.
The investigation into Beverly's disappearance soon uncovered a trail leading away from her Illinois home and into Missouri. Data from her cellular phone provided early clues, with pings recorded near Bellflower and High Hill, Missouri, on February 5 and February 9, respectively. This suggested that either Beverly or at least her phone had traveled west. The case took a significant turn in April 2022 when some of Beverly's personal belongings, including her cell phone, were discovered inside a house in Bellflower. However, this discovery brought more questions than answers, as there was no sign of Beverly herself or her vehicle, a blue 2019 Nissan Versa with an Alabama license plate. Authorities later learned that her car had been sold by someone else in the St. Louis area and had subsequently changed hands multiple times.
As the months wore on, the search for answers continued. In June 2022, law enforcement located a man named Charles L. Story in Bellflower, an individual they had been seeking for questioning regarding Beverly's disappearance. Story, who had outstanding warrants from Illinois, barricaded himself in a room and engaged in a brief standoff with police before being taken into custody. While he was questioned, he was not officially named a suspect in her case. Beverly's family has made emotional public pleas for information and has offered a $10,000 reward for any details that could lead to her whereabouts. The St. Clair County Sheriff's Department, along with the Montgomery County Sheriff's Department in Missouri, have continued to investigate, searching multiple residences and areas, but have yet to find any definitive leads explaining her vanishing.
