In the spring of 2022, a sense of concern fell over a community in Fredericksburg, Virginia, with the disappearance of 17-year-old Santos Yat Tujin. A refugee from Guatemala, Santos had only recently arrived in the United States, seeking safety and a new beginning. She had been placed with a sponsor family just five days before she went missing.
