Rick Lewis, a 63-year-old man, went missing from his home in Reno, Nevada, on August 3, 2022. He had sustained a traumatic brain injury (TBI) a decade prior and was reportedly experiencing suicidal thoughts at the time of his disappearance. Lewis had mentioned wanting to "go into the mountains where no one will find him," and after he went missing, several firearms were found missing from his home. He left behind his identification, debit card, clothing, and other personal belongings.
