Rondall Simpson Missing Person Case

Rondall Lynn Simpson, a 31-year-old man from Lockwood, California, was reported missing on February 13, 1983. His disappearance was discovered when his parole officer was unable to reach him. Investigations revealed forensic evidence inside Simpson's mobile home that indicated foul play. Witness statements and forensic analysis led to the conclusion that he had been murdered, even though his body was never recovered. The evidence suggested he was killed during a heated argument fueled by drugs and alcohol.

Gary Lee Hicks, who lived in the same trailer park as Simpson and was acquainted with his family, was later charged and convicted of Simpson’s murder despite the absence of a body. The prosecution argued that Hicks killed Simpson and disposed of his body in Cemetery Cove at San Antonio Lake. However, Simpson’s remains were never found, and Hicks denied the charges, claiming there was insufficient evidence to prove Simpson was dead and not simply missing.

Rondall’s case remains a “murder without a body” case, and his remains have never been located despite extensive searches. His disappearance is still classified as a missing person case with the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office actively investigating any new leads.
